Hi Readers!

BEFORE SUNDAY:

• Please E-mail, in advance, whoever is preaching to clarify the reading and to let them know you are going to be the reader
• The prayer before Bible reading should simply ask that God will speak to us in his Word.  It's a way of helping us sit under the authority of God in the scriptures.  It helps us to express our submission to God's Word as being God's revealed will and purpose for the world and us.
• Practice reading aloud a few times before Sunday.
• Find out the page number from the black church Bibles as well as the Chapter/verse numbers (but not the heading provided in the Bible as they are not actual Scripture)
• If you are unable to read on the day you are rostered on for, please organise to swap with someone and then e-mail me so I can ensure the Bulletin is kept up to date
• Please ensure your e-mail and phone number details are correct in the Church Directory to make getting in touch with others on the roster easy.

ON SUNDAY:

In order to help the congregation with ease-of-listening/ease-of-finding the passage, we can follow a basic predictable sequence. Please read aloud in this order:

1. CHAPTER… VERSE… PAGE NUMBER...
2. (pause)…
3. PRAYER…
4. CHAPTER…VERSE…
5. READING
